Corneal Cross-Linking for Keratoconus and Post Laser Ectasia
by P Fournier, MD, C. Garra, MD, J Kerautet, MD, F. Malecaze, MD, F. Malet, Md, N. Sire, MD, David Touboul, MD
The authors discuss the use of corneal collagen crosslinking linking (CXL) as a therapeutic treatment for keratoconus and post-excimer laser ectasia. It is believed that progression of keratoconus can be stabilized by using an ultra-violet laser to excite photosensitive riboflavin diffused in the cornea, subsequently stiffening and flattening the cornea.

hamed (30 days ago) congratulation, this is so good video.
suheb (52 days ago) Great video and a fantastic graphical representation of the process. However I would strongly recommend someone with a medical background to do the commentary. It sounded very amateurish. Perhaps a media savvy medical student?
TARIK (186 days ago) thanks a million for your video. I have 2 Qs: 1)Do you do the procedure in 2 steps like putting the riboflavin drops then after 20 min you start the UV light exposure ? OR you expose the cornea to UV while you putting the riboflavin drops ? any essential difference on the outcome ? 2 ) any complications from Crosslinking ? Regards Dr Tarik Saddik Galway Eire
DR. AGUILERA (252 days ago) FERNANDO AGBUILERA To diminish limbal cell UV exposure and avoid Riboflavin in the conj I recomend using an 8.5 mm circle sponge (Chayet style). THis also reduces postop symptoms Instituto de Ojos
Francisco Sa (254 days ago) Congratulations to David Tobouland and collegues for such magnificent description of cross-linking My only suggestion should be to protect the limbus in order to avoid radiation to limbal steem cells, and to reduce the risk of limbal disfunction.
